“We are keen “Birdies” and in just two hours, Ian pointed out 9 new varieties of birds we’d never seen or photographed before to add to our album of nearly 300 species. We were amazed by the beauty of the Daintree and its stunning scenery. Ian showed us not only the birds, but also tree snakes, a Papuan Frogmouth, plants
and trees of all shapes and sizes. Thank you Ian and Dawn for truly wonderful service.”  

Michael Addis and Catherine Weightman and their children Thomas, Holley and Christopher joined a Sunrise Cruise during a recent visit from their home at Huntingdon near Cambridge in the UK.

Sunrise Cruising

Start your day in the Daintree with a unique, tranquil experience. The Sunrise Tour offers visitors the opportunity to see the Daintree River in a different light, watching the changing colours of early morning over the river as it comes to life and the abundant wildlife emerges with the breaking of a new day.  

Early morning is the ideal time to be on the river if you are a bird enthusiast, seeing the diverse range of bird life on the river and nearby rainforest and listening to the remarkable sounds of the dawn chorus. The photo opportunities with dozens of varieties of birds, to say nothing of the chance of seeing the renowned Daintree River crocodiles, will give the visitor special memories for many years to come.

On the Sunrise Cruise, guests are served orange or apple juice with delicious Anzac biscuits and arrangements can be made to dine at one of our local Daintree restaurants after the cruise. Free tea or coffee is available upon return.
